About Us
Welcome, my name is Anna Nicholson and I am an artist in rural Queensland. About 70km north-east of Clermont an idea was born when a local member of the community suggested we decorate our mailboxes in honour of the Anzacs. I jumped at the opportunity and created my chicken wire sculpture who I named in honour of our WWI local Clermont war hero William “Billy” Sing. Over a week, it took me 12 hours to construct the sculpture and with help my mother-in-law “Karen”, anchor him to a steel post out the front of our mailbox.
I took a photo and the rest is history, there is well over 30,000 shares on Facebook and numerous media interviews. I have done interviews for the Daily Mercury, Queensland Country Life, live ABC Queensland Radio, 7 News Brisbane. ABC Brisbane, Capricornia, ABC Landline, 4HI Radio and a number of RSL’s have shared my page. It makes me proud to bring so many Australians together to remember our returned and fallen soldiers. Now I am on a mission to use this time to fundraise for Clermont and Proserpine RSL’s. Let’s give back to some rural community charities and give them a hand in this time of great need.
